Chapter 2-6

Jasiri/Schmead/Hazel/Excalibur all talk about Vaelyn not breathing at the mansion. But they agree he will come to the party with his situation when he’s ready. The four of them also discuss the details of Tobias’s status but also agree this should be a full conversation in the morning with the entire crew. For now, everyone decides to go to sleep.

The party receives a long rest

The party meets up with Hilda in the morning to relay the information regarding the Crows. She seems to be worried about funds and is running out fast. She agrees in the end and says she will get the ship ready to go in the meantime. Hilda apologizes for her behaviour towards getting the ship ready and inviting so many new people onto the ship. She does trust them and wants the party to know they wouldn’t hurt the party.

After Hilda leaves, the party discusses the information talked about last night, wanting to include Vaelyn and Torren in the conversation. This situation is going to create awkward questions - Schmead can’t handle that level of anxiety lol The party argues a lot about what to do and how they can’t really decide on Tobias’s fate when they don’t have true authority. In the end, the party agrees to stick with the original plan of taking him to the next city to hand him over.

[Going to the Job Board] Almost arriving at the job board, Lirael intercepts the party from going out to public. Cornelius has reported the party to the authorities for conspiracy with criminals. Currently the party is wanted. There is no new job posted anyway. “We owe you..” - Lirael will remember that.

[The party decides to go after the Titanspawn instead] Heading North of the ruined part of the city, it is very silent here. This area has been left to the elements and abandoned. Iceshards still remain from the Titan attack. A titan’s magic lingers.. Even after three years have passed. Excalibur’s core is malfunctioning and he starts to experience the feeling of not being able to breathe. His sensors aren’t working and glitching. Everyone also has their own issues with the lingering magic around the area. Hazel searches the area as a wolf, trying to hunt down the Titanspawn with Garrus. It smells like death here - a time capsule of the events that happened.

In the middle of the search, something comes out of the shadows and pierces through Excalibur’s core. It shatters as the creature reveals itself to the party. Excalibur experiences different scenes of time from the events that occurred here to the sky being filled with visions of war - Hundreds of Stormbreakers - Dragons flying through the air - people being slaughtered and attacked.

Until the pieces of Excalibur’s core start to freeze in time and wait for his response in which he says “Everything in time..” He starts to see strange runic symbols and spells the knowledge of something new. Excalibur is now a Wizard instead of a Sorcerer

[ROLL FOR INITIATIVE] The party engages with the creature in combat and as a wolf, Hazel runs to Excalibur, clearly in a panic, running her head under his hand to ensure he’s okay. When she gets acknowledgement she runs into battle along with the rest of the party.

Garrus continues to distract the titanspawn in combat and Jasiri conjures magic he doesn’t truly understand and destroys it with a massive hit. A small black gemstone drops to the ground. The party asks if Excalibur is okay but the area is very dangerous to remain in. Hazel picks up the gemstone.

[The party decides to head back and regroup at the Safe Respite] They all make their way in the shadows to not get attention of guards or any authorities. Charlie sees us and is happy to see us again - gathering a bottle of wine for the party. Schmead is heckin’ loaded with gold and drops 5 gold on the table to keep Charlie’s silence. Vaelyn climbs to the roof to watch during his short rest. Jasiri writes a letter to the Protectorate stating Torren and himself are going to be checking out of the city. Hazel asks Excalibur how he feels. - He had visions of split second images of Stormbreaker fleets, thousands of dragons, and assumed it had to be from ages ago. It felt very real to him at that moment. Perhaps visions of the past? Visions of the party’s ship falling out of the sky. Past.. or Future… Premonitions, perhaps? The party has never experienced the feeling that was felt in the ruined city. The party also has never been to a spot that has been recently attacked, so they wouldn’t have experienced the strange aura. Hazel and Schmead don’t like the titancore - what it could be capable of when all the titan’s are gone. Where does Jasiri’s power come from? Seeing Excalibur go down like he did, it might have driven him to use such a power. While insight-checking him, Schmead notices Jasiri doesn’t know where the power comes from but he isn’t going to ask questions for the time being.

The party devises a plan: A literal crow comes and sits beside Vaelyn on the roof. It has a small piece of paper tied to its leg and it reads: Ready when you are… He sends a note to the party inside with Garrus… “Well… That’s heckin’ ominous.”

IDEA: Steal Charlie’s bedsheets and use them as disguises to walk through the city? How can you hide a 7ft tall ghost??

SHORT REST ACHIEVED

[Returning to the Volts] The party goes to meet with Hermann and William and go towards the fountain. William is using a disguise to hide himself and will always use the basket. William leads the party back towards the same secret lab.

Hermann greets the party. Asks for the core but Hazel hesitates at first. He then takes the core and walks over to his desk. He pulls out a hand cannon - slotting the gemstone inside. He aims the cannon towards the clockwork machines. A massive explosion goes off and he simply shrugs, saying it’s on the right track. The party reveals he will be going out in a shipment crate and Hermann says it’ll be uncomfortable. Jay comes through - UNCOMFORTABLE? HOW ABOUT THE RUINED CITY WE JUST WALKED THROUGH??

The party sends word to Hilda it’s time to go. Oh? Also?? Hermann is going to blow up his lab. Jasiri takes their mattress to bring it to Tobias, as promised.

Hermann notices Excalibur is … Different. Warforge don’t have cores held together by magic? This is something worth looking into.. Something worth thinking about. Perhaps the ship isn’t the only interesting thing to look into on the ship.

[The Shipment // Escort Quest] Vaelyn takes point and goes ahead to look for any potential issues they might run into. He’s super stealthy but can’t seem to see anything (a nat 1 for perception)

Garrus watches above too, the Abandon and guards are out looking around. The guards are more of the main roads while the Abandon take more of the alleyways and shadows. The party needs to rely on the Crows’ assistance to maneuver through town.

Rooftop Vaelyn = Streets behind Street Vaelyn = Streets ahead

The Crows help the party go through the streets by jumping down and distracting them. Eventually, the party rounds a corner and comes face to face with the Shadow.

Hazel approaches, agreeing to hand over “the key” to the crate. He reaches out and Hazel casts Cure Wounds but instead, his hand starts to darken and rot as the magic seeps into his arm.

[ROLL FOR INITIATIVE] JASIRI hits him with a Tacobell bong - he doesn’t aim to kill though. The man from the ship attack shows up to help the party with the battle.

Vaelyn approaches and stabs The Shadow when he’s recoiled from Jasiri’s roar - stabs him through the back and it pierces through his chest. As he holds him there, his fangs are bared and he hisses in his ear - then lets his body drop to the ground.

More of the Crow members appear and continue to help in the battle as more Abandoned and guards show up. The party starts to run by with the help of the Crows, making it to the docks. Hilda sees the party and assists them with getting into the boat. The crate opens up and reveals Hermann and William.

Hilda and Hermann get acquainted, then he looks at the ship. “I think this will be fun.” He turns and the explosion goes off where his lab was - it was a lot larger and sooner than the party anticipated.

The ship starts to take off and everyone leaves Port Revelry behind <3
