Chapter 3-2

NOTE: “All aboard the hot mess express.”

The party falls through the air and can see a town with a carnival, train station, and large buildings. On the northwestern end, extending out from the city they can see a canon as if a sword has sliced the ground. The body of Gigas lies. At the far end of the canon, there is a break in the wall that is completely surrounded by guards.

The party chooses to park the ship far enough away from the city where people won’t venture out to investigate the party’s camp. The party takes the key from the ship so no one will be able to drive off with it. Within the clearing, a pair of owlbears appear.

[ROLL FOR INITIATIVE] The owlbears start to attack the party but Hazel discovers they’re looking for their baby. The party manages to bring down one of the owlbears. In the process, Torren is badly wounded but seeing it dying, Hazel immediately runs over to it and gives it a healing potion.

The other owlbear tries to disengage and run away, still hurt but both are now safe in the forest. Hazel yells at the Torren for killing the owlbear and asks why he didn’t stop. He could have run. “You shouldn’t run from a bear,” - Jasiri “Depends on the bear,” - Vaelyn having Hazel’s back. Moving forward the party will look for a baby owlbear during their time in the area. Hopefully there aren’t any Cruella Deville Schemes coming in Chapter 3

Torren goes to talk to Vaelyn during the walk towards Old Crest. A spell Torren had been working on to help Vaelyn’s conditions and it’s keeping the conditions at bay.

Vaelyn tells Torren he’s worried about him getting into difficult situations and he is glad his brother is okay. They have a sweet spat between the two of them, giving a light punch on their arms in a tease.

[Reaching Oldcrest] The more people appear into view and the day is just getting started. Families and all ages of individuals wandering the town and through the main gates. It’s in pristine condition with homes, stores, attractions, etc. There are booths that have tickets to a massive theme park and canon. Once in the center of town the party finds the same style of statue they did in Port Revelry of the Dawnbringer (Dawnbringer has wings but is not an aasimar but human.) There is a plaque of eight names who slew the titan. Over half of them are dead after that fight Cedric Grayvale (Dawnbringer) - Alive Charlotte Grayvale - Wife - Deceased Byron Stormhammer (Hilda’s Father) - Deceased Abigail - Alive Alric - Alive

A gentleman. Daryl approaches Jasiri and offers free tickets to the theme park, Dawnbringer Canon. Though, we are required to talk to them for roughly an hour. He is selling timeshares. Jasiri says he’ll meet the party back in an hour at the Dawnbringer statue. The rest of the party goes off. He listens to him for an hour and gets a free pass to the park. 20g per year for the timeshare. It’s a 2 bedroom condo on the outskirts of town. 10g per ticket to Dawnbringer canon The rest of the party go to seek out a tavern to stay at. Excalibur will bring back the receipts for all expenses during the business trip. Vaelyn manages to steal a park pass from someone’s pocket. Realizing they don’t want to buy the pass, they turn around and go back to Daryl. The party turns around and goes back to Daryl to listen to get a park pass. Jasiri buys Daryl a drink for the wonderful presentation. When Jasiri gets money in the future, he will return to Daryl to sign up. Vaelyn observes the people going in and out of the park. [Jasiri and Torren Need to Sign in with the Protectorate] The party manages to find the guildhall for the protectorate within the main square. They also sell members a discount for passes and sell them for only a few gold.

While on the way, Excalibur finds a flower stall - Flumph Lily - it has curling petals with a floof in the middle. It is the most unique one they have and they grow on the southern end of the continent. Excalibur gives it to Hazel and she’s completely stunned as no one has ever given her a flower before. She’s unable to put into words her feelings and blushes for the remainder of the walk, holding the flower close.

There is only one job on the board here unlike the job board in Port Revelry. Linda the receptionist checks in Jasiri and Torren. Torren gives the last name and says Raleigh as a last name. There’s a crisis at the historic site. At the far western end of the canon, a group of giants have broken down the wall and settled in amongst the bones of the titans. Some of the archeologists are currently trapped there. No one is allowed within the historic site of the park for safety reasons. 25g per volunteer

WHERE’S THE ZOO… - Hazel Discovering they have a new baby owlbear named Hoolian.

Schmead knows the followers of Theena fight the actions of stealing animals and placing them in captivity.

Hazel promises not to stage a breakout but will ensure they do this right.

[INTO THE PARK ~ ] They don’t take the party’s weapons. Most of the park attendants are warforged. Once in the park, there’s a large stage with an animatronic diorama that plays music and tells the story of what happened on repeat. It’s very theatrical and waiting for it to start over.

There is a train platform that will take people to each section of the park. The different stops of the train consist of the following: Animal Kingdom Whoever made this, made the zoo a very nice place and the spaces for the animals are very well taken care of. The zoo houses many different animals. There is one adult owl bear and a small owlbear - There is a crowd/gathering of people with the news of the owlbear cub. Discovering they have a new baby owlbear named Hoolian and an adult named Hoolette. The information plaque seems to misguide guests and the adult isn’t actually its mother. The owlbear in the forest was definitely the mother.

Pirates Cove There’s log rides, ship rides, games of chance, for prizes that are simple. “SO YA WANNA PLAY CARDS ~” Jasiri and Hazel play and win some t-shirts. Hazel gives Excalibur a t-shirt she won, clearly proud of her winnings for him. T-shirt: “I visited Pirate Cove, played Poker with 11 year olds, and won.” Spooky Street Haunted Houses. Hazel ends up scaring those that try to jump the party. Schmead ends up passing out from fear. Adrenaline Adventure Family Fun Town Canon Entrance The gates are closed and the party cannot go through. Jasiri goes to talk to an attendant but realizes he doesn’t know much but he goes to talk to a guard instead. About a week ago, giants broke through the north eastern wall of the canon and planted their camp right within the bones. They were threatening and captured some of the archeologists - might be held hostage? There’s a lot of giants. The giants just showed up - this is unusual for giants… Bolan is among the archeologists that are kidnapped

After their conversation with the guard.. the party is interrupted by giants starting to attack the park. Rocks smash through the gates…
